A footnote in the sand of our lives

PLDT (Philippine Long Distance Telephone) Review

One word review: Horrific

Reason: We experienced a DNS issue. I am tech savvy and know how to check networks for errors. I tested our whole network and could not find an issue. After months of problems, I demanded that PLDT replace our modem as I could not find a problem anywhere else. This fixed the problem. PLDT engineers were completely unable to find the problem.

PLDT had told us that they would refund us, but for the last 3 months they have been billing us while they processed the refund. Now we have a bill for over 8000 PHP (around 160 GBP) which they are demanding that we pay or they will disconnect us. We have called them time and time again and they have promissed to investigate it and phone us back. When they phone us back they say that the refund is still being processed!

Now, we are waiting for a manager to call us back. PLDT have been absolutely pathetic. They have lied to us, failed to call us back, failed to deal with our complaints and much more. If you are with PLDT, LEAVE THEM NOW! Call 171 and cancel your account! Any other isp would be better, much better than these bunch of retards.

  1. pero agree ako
ako nga halos 2 years na
    nabibill parin ako
nung dapat sana e wlana sa bill
yung initial payment na 1,700 for installation
diko na mabilang ilang beses ako tumawag
    walaparin
    sabi for apporval
tas wag ko nalang dw bayaran
pero annoying na monthly’for disconnection ang bill ko
    kasi nga
    2 months lagi bill ko
    dami pa overcharges
di ako bumababa sa 2k monthly
i stopped analyzing na long time ago
[and I just pay blindly yung monthly bills ko
    sakit sa bangs eh

too bad I dont have much choice coz I live in Binangonan Rizal where PLDT is the only available option. cant go wireless. I need a stable connection all the time.ouch

    • They are horrible. Called me to ask if I wanted a “free upgrade to 5mbps”. The catch was that you had to signup for another 12 months. I refused. I am stuck with 3mbps, but I can leave them and go to bayantel where they seem a lot better, although I am still waiting for a reply from their sales dept that has been taking a hell of a long time.
I am tempted to buy a huge connection and sell it via a huge wifi antenna on my roof lol.

My net went off a while back. Turned out that someone had urinated on the exchange box and it had fused the connections.
Then just to add insult to injury, someone transferred our phone number to one of our neighbours. They had done this with at least 3 numbers that I know of. Internet was broken for 2 days and they never said sorry. Their managers were calling us and saying it was fixed when we were still getting calls for another number. I had to tell them what was wrong and how to fix it. I was tempted to go to their local office here with a baseball bat lol
