A footnote in the sand of our lives

UK imposes first sanctions on Iran

Here we go again. Let me just pick some bits out of the article.

Mr Osborne said: “We have ceased all contact between the UK’s financial system and the Iranian financial system.”

“We’re doing this because of international evidence that Iran’s banks are involved in the development of Iran’s weaponised military nuclear weapon programme.”

This “evidence” is the belief that they may have created a computer model (we are not told what model) that could be used in the creation of nuclear weapons. However, most items used in creating nuclear weapons are also used for many other peaceful reasons.

What do they mean by “we have ceased all contact”? Did they not even phone them to tell them what was happening? Are they just hanging up as soon as the caller says they are from Iran? I don’t understand. Its like they’re just not on talking terms, like some bitch throwing a fit.

The Treasury said in a statement that Iran’s banks “play a crucial role in providing financial services to individuals and entities within Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programmes, as companies carrying out proliferation activities require banking services”.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Of course banks play a crucial role in providing financial services to individuals and entities within Iran’s (or any other country’s) nuclear and ballistic missile programmes. By “individuals” it can only be assumed that they are referring to err, well,  individuals just like you and me. Now, this does not just target individuals suspected of being involved with the nuclear or missile programmes, it means EVERYONE. That means that if someone saved a bit of money and invested it in a company outside Iran, they have now lost all of their money. Right? Or at least they would be unable to get it back.

What about the virus used to attack Iranian nuclear sites? Why was a full investigation not conducted into that? Its clear where it came from. Or the damage done by the Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear power stations?

Japan was trusted with Nuclear power and they now have one of the biggest nuclear disasters anyone has ever had to deal with. 8 months after the tsunami and STILL no one and no robot has been able to get inside the reactor buildings. Why the hell not? Are you serious? In the Chernobyl incident, they bought a remote controlled car, taped a camera to it and drove it in. So why in Japan, the most technologically advanced nation on earth have they been unable in 8 months to do the same the Russians did in 1986? It seems nothing less than insane. And they STILL do not have the reactors under control. They expect to have a cold shut-down by the end of the year, but it will take TEN YEARS to fully decommission the site. Jesus, what a fucking mess we have made of this planet.

Back to the main story…

The BBC’s Iran correspondent James Reynolds said that despite the IAEA report, Iran had not been referred to the United Nations Security Council for further sanctions because Russia and China were opposed to the move.

That is exactly what happened with Iraq. Remember the situation with veto’s and the way the USA attempted to spy on everyone?

He said the sums of money involved were not yet clear, but being able to take part in the international financial system was clearly crucial for Iran, especially its petrochemical industry.

What the hell does the petrochemical industry have to do with this? Ohhhh right, OIL! Of course it is crucial for iranian petrochemical companies to take part in the international financial system, Oil is usually sold and bought in dollars and without access to the international financial system, you would not be able sell Oil or anything else internationally.

What I find really disturbing is that assets of Iranian banks have been frozen by the European government.

And to make it worse, they are imposing sanctions claiming that the accessibility to international financial markets is allowing them to build these projects, but yet they have no idea what sums of money we are talking about. How the hell can you impose a sanction when you have no idea how much or if any money is actually involved.

My opinion? I think that this is a quick and easy way to destroy the Iranian economy, likely in hope that the government will be overthrown by the people just like in Libya which refused the need for troops but allows you to have a lot of control and install a puppet government once you have stolen everything that isn’t nailed down.

I think this has been very delicately done, starting with the UK instead of the USA, but the USA and other countries will impose similar sanctions that will eventually be adopted by all countries.

But, I do have to ask why on earth we are once again applying sanctions without the guidance and assistance of the UN. Well, I know why, it’s because it would not be done as it would be vetoed. So the UK and USA simply bypass the UN, which is a disgrace. It is like taking the law into your own hands.

I have friends within Iran who work in the financial market. I am trying to contact them so I can get their opinion and view from within.
