Lazy day
I have had a dripping tap for a while now and was losing around 4 litres of water a day. We decided enough was enough and called a plumber who said he would come out at 9am. I got up at 8am so that I could be ready for the plumber although I had only had 3 hours sleep maximum. At 10am, we called to find out where he was and was told he had forgotten his tools and had gone back for them. A short while later, he arrived. He didn’t speak much English, but we managed to get by using the English he knew, the Tagalog I knew and bridging the remaining gap with hand gestures.
The whole tap needed to be replaced and the plumber went out to buy a new tap. He returned shortly after with a nice looking gold and silver tap. After replacing it, he called the office so that they could tell me how much I needed to pay. Unfortunately I was 20 pesos short, so I had to go to the local mini mart to break a 1000 peso note.
I paid the plumber and he left. I went back to my office and buckled down for some intense work.
By 4pm I was exhausted and needed to get a few hours sleep. I set the alarm for 6:30pm, but I must have turned it off as we did not wake up until 9pm.
We quickly got ready and headed out to Makati where were had planned to go and see Spit Improv Thursdays at RCBC Tower at the Hexagon lounge managing to catch the last 45 minutes of the show and seeing Rafael Rosell who I had met at the Star Magic ball. We talked for a while before leaving to go over to the IBM offices nearby.
On the way to IBM, I managed to get a nice shot of the moon behind a skyscraper.
Arriving at IBM, Ian saw all her old workmates and we were waiting for Dindo, her boss when she worked at IBM. By now it was just past midnight.
As always Dindo, it was a pleasure to see you and we need to meet up for drinks. Salamat po for your hospitality once again.
Leaving IBM, we headed outside to the taxi rank and got a cab home, arriving home just before 2am.
Was it really a lazy day? It certainly felt like one as I slept twice and in spite of the work that I got done during the day and having the tap being replaced, it felt like I had done little else.
All in all, a good day.
