A footnote in the sand of our lives

2 days in Boracay

We have been very lucky to be invited to Boracay for business. Usually, we are stuck in the office working on clients projects, no matter what the weather is like outside.

Getting to Boracay was a little weird for me due to the transport required.

Here is how it went:

1) Flight from Manila to Boracay on a turbo prop.

2) Trike from Boracay airport to the sea port.

3) Ferry from the sea port to the island. (although it was more like a converted fishing boat than a ferry)

4) Resort van from island sea port to resort.

Ok, now we are at the resort, here are all the photos and descriptions:

To say the very least, the resort was amazing. We were not overlooked by any other resort, it was entirely private and beautiful, both the resort and rooms were excellent and the service was amazing.

The beach. What can I say? Boracay was voted as one of the best beaches in the world and it deserves the award, it is amazing. I have never seen a beach like this, only ever in postcards and adverts!

Food. We stopped at two locations for meals and they were fantastic. They even had British fish and chips. Usually I only eat local food, but after being in the Philippines for 18 months, I craved for some english food and it was fantastic.

As we were taking photos, we saw a butterfly that we thought was getting nectar from the flower, but it was upside down. Upon a closer look, we saw that a white spider looked just like the flower and had grabbed the butterfly to kill and eat.

A few photos of the beach, wildlife and resort.

We returned to the airport to fly home and at a bar next to the airport I found that they had a series of police badges. Some of which were from the UK! I find it funny, here I am 28,000km from the UK and here are some badges from my home country!

As the plane was almost ready to taxi onto the runway in Boracay, I took this snap of the airport and security guard.

All in all, it was a fantastic trip. We returned back to Manila and began packing for our next business trip. Ian had a shoot the following day and we then went straight to the airport to fly away to Bacolod. As I write this post, we have just got back from Bacolod and are getting ready to fly to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia for 4 days! Ugh, it’s tiring, but when we are in Malaysia, we will be relaxing. No work!
